Christ the King Primary School, Deception Bay, QLD

School statement
Christ the King is a Catholic, primary co-educational school situated in Deception Bay north of Brisbane, with an enrolmentof around 240. Christ the King School is a community where individuals are encouraged to express themselves and where the teachings of Jesus Christ are embraced with enthusiasm and used as guidelines for living together in family and wider society. Love and zest for learning are fostered, and all feel welcome, respected and safe. The whole school has been recently redeveloped, meaning that along with a new library and hall, we have 11 brand new classrooms equipped with data projectors, integrated video systems and wireless internet. Interactive whiteboards are also available to all classrooms. We aim to engage and meet the needs of children throughout all of the key learning areas with a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy skills. A support teacher is employed during literacy and numeracy blocks in order to reduce class sizes and support student learning needs in the best possible way. We believe that it is important for students to have opportunities to challenge and express themselves in a variety of ways. Specialist teachers provide and enhance learning programs in dance, art, cultural literacy, languages (French) and inclusive education. Visit the school website.
