Moreton Downs State school is a Band 10 School situated to the North of Brisbane in the suburb of Deception Bay.The school enrolment is approximately 775 and we offer learning for students enrolled in Prep to Year 7.We offer quality programs to our students in all KLAs with a focus on Literacy and Numeracy. A strong extra-curricular program exists, particularly in the areas of Sport and The Arts, with the school having success in sporting, choir and instrumental competitions. Distinctive features about the school include a focus on engagement through the introduction of a Pathfinder Learning Program for middle phase students and the operation of a CALM Room which assists to provide a supportive learning environment. Our community supports the school with a growing band of parents assisting in fundraisng and school operations. NAPLAN results indicate that we provide strong intervention programs for the needs of our students in the lower bands but that we need to introduce strategies to improve students potential and increase the percentage of students operating in the higher bands in year 3, 5 and 7. Involvement in The National Partnership Program will support efforts to achieve our goals. Visit the school website.
