School statement
Shailer Park State School has been Creating Bright Futures since 1982. By providing windows of opportunities we aim for confident, self-motivated and positive life-long learners. Our curriculum is based on Essential Learnings. Our heavy emphasis on literacy/numeracy, aims to maximize educational outcomes for students from Prep to Year 7. Our extra curricula programs include music bands; dance; cheerleading; maths and Optiminds teams. Our strong commitment to these activities is evident in our Cheerleaders being the 2009 State Primary Champions; our Dance Troupes winning several places in 2009 Redlands and Beenleigh Eisteddfods; and our Maths Team winning 2nd place in a 2009 Maths Team Challenge. Our annual Gala Night gives all students the opportunity to highlight their talents. Our commitment to quality student management practices includes a Responsible Behaviour Plan for Student; School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program; and a chaplaincy program. Parents play an important role in educating all children and we encourage parents to become actively involved. Our Parents and Citizens Association help us to foster links with the wider community and provide us with ongoing advice and support. Visit the school website.
