School statement
Banksia Beach State School provides education to primary age students from Prep to Year 7. The School was established in 1992, and in 2009 has a total enrolment of 861. Banksia Beach offers a diverse range of learning opportunities for students. We have a well-developed core curriculum that focuses on the eight key learning areas. Information technology is embraced across the school through wireless technology, smart boards, computer labs and laptops. Children are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of extracurricular programs. These include: enrichment programs in IT; senior, junior and boys-only choirs; an award winning competition choir; an instrumental program including award winning concert band, ensemble and Big Band; public speaking competitions; a wide variety of sporting opportunities, including positions in district and regional teams; a full school musical; a student council; a School Leadership Program and a variety of school camps.Our Vision is to be known as a school of high performance, a school with high performing students, staff and leadership; with high quality relationships with our parents and community and with high quality facilities, resources and outcomes. Visit the school website.
