School statement
Maroubra Junction Public School (71% N.E.S.B) enjoys new state of the art facilities after the recent amalgamation of a split site school. Our core values are: Learning, Leadership, Integrity, Support, Cooperation, Acceptance, Respect and Friendliness. These values are translated into class promises and into an active Student Welfare Policy. Our community values the school's high achievement in literacy and numeracy. Recent focus areas have included incorporating the Quality Teaching Framework into teaching and learning programs in all Key Learning Areas and utilising technology, including Interactive Whiteboards, to enhance student learning. The school has strong performing arts programs including two bands, choirs and dance groups and biannual Art Shows and Stage Concerts. There are focussed fitness and sports programs K to 6, with a wide range of Sports options available for Years 3 to 6 students. We have a School Council, Parents and Citizens association and a parent community which actively supports school priorities and focus areas. There is a quality Before and After School Care Centre, K to6 Greek and Chinese Community language programs and before and after school tuition in guitar, keyboard and chess. Visit the school website.
