School statement
West End State School, established in 1875, is located in the heart of Brisbane within walking distance of Brisbane's CBD and the Brisbane River. We have many links with nearby Brisbane State High School, Queensland's Cultural Precinct of Performing Arts Centre, Qld Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art(GOMA), Qld Museum and Qld State Library, Griffith University's Conservatorium of Music and College Of Art, Southbank TAFE and Davies Park Sports Fields. Our proactive community is proud of our willingness to constantly reflect and adopt innovative practices which embrace the strengths of our multicultural nationalities (currently 45)and socio-economic diversity to provide a wide range of opportunities. West End State School achieves high standards as a result of setting challenges with high expectations, focused teaching and engaged learning. Staff expertise and high-quality curriculum design capitalises on our strong partnerships and proximity to Queensland's flagship educational and cultural institutions to provide high quality educational experiences and opportunities for our students.
