School statement
Tallangatta Secondary College is a pivotal partner in delivering high quality state education which stimulates, supports and challenges all members to engage in meaningful pathways which positively influence the nature and function of society in all its contexts. Our values are centred on Learning to Trust, Respect, Honesty and Confidence. These values were established after extensive consultation with students, parents and teachers. Current student enrolment is approximately 430 students in Years 7 to 12 and whilst the college is experiencing growth, we continue to provide a student-centred learning philosophy based on developing programs and learning structures to meet individual student needs. We are proud to operate a vertically integrated unit system of curriculum offering semester and term length units of study within the domains of the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) and special programs which target student needs including Learning Support (years 7 to10), Personal Best (year 9), Boys' Education years 8 and 9, Integrated Transition program (Year 7), Advance (CFA Youth Crew), sport, school productions and instrumental music. The college also offers extensive pathways within the VCE, VETiS and VCAL programs including a managed individual pathways (MIPs) approach. Visit the school website.
