Black Hill Primary School in an inviting, inclusive and vibrant school offering high quality learning opportunities and a robust learning environment. Our values reflect our culture in which Excellence in Education is prized and Aspiration, Respect, Integrity, Responsibility and Teamwork form the basis of all that we do. In addition to our key priorities of excellence in English and Mathematics we prioritise excellence in Sport and Physical Fitness, Performing and Visual Arts and looking after our environment. We rotate a biannual Black Hill Concert with our biannual 'Arts Week', where students have the opportunity to showcase their performance/artistic skills. We have a range of acceleration and intervention programs that ensure all students reach their learning goals. We also work to support teachers and education support staff in other Victorian schools through our role as an Autism Hub. Students are catered for in a nurturing school environment from Kindergarten to Year 6, with our pre-school children attending the Black Hill Kindergarten located adjacent to the school. The relationship between home and school is of paramount importance at Black Hill, where we have both an active School Council and an active Parent Representative Group. Our staff focus their professional learning on strong lesson structure and differentiated planning for all students, with an emphasis on teaching and learning programs based at individual point of need. We employ 2 Principal Class, 1 Leading Teacher, 19 full time teachers, 12 part time teachers and 14 Education Support Staff who work collaboratively to plan for effective student outcomes, founded on the regular and rigorous collection of student and school performance data. Black Hill Primary School is Excellence in Education.
