Mount Eliza North Primary School is an accredited International Baccalaureate Organisation World School delivering the Primary Years Programme. We are committed to continuous improvement and achievement in excellence in teaching and learning at every level. We have a reputation for high academic student learning outcomes in all subject areas through a rich, engaging curriculum. This is complemented by a specialised literacy intervention program. We provide a concept driven, inquiry based learning environment that challenges the school community to live the attributes of the International Baccalaureate Learner Profile. Specialist teaching is provided in Art, Music, French, Library and Physical Education. Enrichment programs include swimming, camps, interschool sports and numerous lunchtime activities as well as Performing Arts activities including MENPS Factor, the annual soiree, biannual whole school concert and annual Grade 5 participation in Wakakirri. We are very proud of our students being selected to perform in the 2013 state final. Our Instrumental Music Program, available to all interested students, provides individual or group lessons in a wide variety of instruments with our ten Music Tutors and the children also have the opportunity to perform with our ensemble and school band. The school choir involves the participation of over 200 students from Grades 3 to 6 and regularly perform at community events as well as providing entertainment for hospitals and retirement villages. Our Grade 2 choir perform in French. We value the development of inquiring, knowledgeable and caring students who strive to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. We foster active and compassionate life-long learners who understand that other people with their differences can also be right. We develop internationally minded students who have the ability to make a difference by taking action locally and globally, including the establishment of a sister school relationship with Dampas ES in the Philippines. Our extensive Leadership Program provides opportunities for many senior students to take on a variety of roles, not all of them sports based, and our large Junior School Council has two elected representatives from each grade, with a key focus on taking action both locally and globally. There is a strong partnership between parents and staff, with a high level of parent participation on School Council, as classroom helpers, in student mentoring, student led conferences, fundraising including the Annual Art Exhibition, gardens development and social activities. Mount Eliza North Primary School's leafy, bushy surrounds, open plan classroom design and junior school multi age class structure combined with extensive play spaces offers its students an attractive, safe and stimulating learning environment.
