Canberra Girls Grammar School (CGGS) brings together highly qualified teachers and impressive resources and facilities in the nation's capital to create a purposeful learning community. Students are enriched by the diversity of opportunity and a spirit of 'anything is possible'. In a safe and secure environment where not only academic but social and emotional needs are genuinely cared for, CGGS provides a complete education. Individuals are acknowledged and can thrive, develop a true world view, make lifelong friends and a real contribution as global citizens.
As a day and boarding community, CGGS students have a range of cultural backgrounds representing more than 33 nationalities. With forty different languages spoken by the students, there is a sense of broad-mindedness within the School - if there's more than one way to say something, there's certainly more than one way to look at it.
The School has the only girls' boarding house in the ACT. It is an IB World School authorised to offer both the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme as an option for students in Years 11 and 12 and also the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for all students from the Early Learning Centre through to Year 6.
CGGS academic achievements are consistently outstanding, reflected in the results achieved by our 2017 Year 12 students - one quarter of the cohort achieved an ATAR of 95 or above while one in seven students earned an ATAR of 98 or above. The top ATAR of 99.85 was achieved by an IB student, placing her at the very top of independent schools in the ACT.
Girls Grammar is justifiably proud of its students who leave as confident young women with aspirations to undertake further studies and make a positive mark upon society. Canberra Girls Grammar is an Anglican School where Christian faith, ethos and values provide an important foundation for all that the School does. www.cggs.act.edu.au.
